You Only Live Once

(1937, 86m) dir Fritz Lang w/Henry Fonda and Sylvia Sidney. Eddie (Fonda) is an ex-con, sentenced to death for a crime he didn’t commit. On the lam with his wife, Joan, (Sidney), he unleashes his pent-up, and justifiable, anger on an unsuspecting public. Lang’s film is a shocking indictment of American hypocrisy.
