Where Eagles Dare

(1968, 158m) dir Brian G. Hutton w/Richard Burton, Clint Eastwood, Mary Ure. The Nazis have captured American Brigadier General George Carnaby (Robert Beatty), who has full knowledge of the upcoming D-Day operation. The Allies cannot allow him to divulge their plans—so they send in commandos led by Major Smith (Burton) to rescue, or eliminate, him. Action-packed and full of twists (with lots of Nazis getting their just deserts), Eagles is one of the all-time great “guys on a mission” movies.
