Violent Streets

Sunday, August 27–Tuesday, August 29

(1974, DCP, 96m, Japanese w/English subtitles) dir Hideo Gosha w/Noboru Andô, Akira Kobayashi, Isao Natsuyagi. A retired yakuza soldier (Andô) finds himself caught between loyalty to a clan that turned its back on him and a new clan that’s out to take what he has left. Violent Streets is by turns a well-oiled heist film, a pulpy revenge story, and an elegiac tale about becoming obsolete. New Restoration!
