THE STORY OF A THREE-DAY PASS

Saturday, October 23 and Sunday, October 24

(1968, DCP, 87m) dir Melvin Van Peebles w/Harry Baird, Nicole Berger. Turner (Baird) is a black American soldier stationed in France under the command of a bigot. He receives a three-day leave and finds romance with a white woman (Berger). Bearing reflections of the French New Wave and glimmers of the subversive elements in Van Peeble’s later work, Three-Day Pass is a gem finally uncovered.
