The Red Spectacles in 4K

(1987, 116m, Japanese w/English subtitles) dir Mamoru Oshii w/Shigeru Chiba, Machiko Washio, Hideyuki Tanaka. In a dystopian near-future Japan, a brutal paramilitary group is violently put down by the government, and officer Koichi Todome (Chiba) is forced into hiding. Reemerging three years later, he discovers a city he no longer recognizes. The Red Spectacles is a maddening surrealist Kafkaesque neo-noir ripe for cult status.
