The Mattei Affair

The true story of Enrico Mattei (Volontè), who was the head of a state-run petroleum company founded after World War II to replace the corrupt, fascist-led petroleum company AGIP. Refusing to bow to the United States or former fascists in power, Mattei made many enemies. After Mattei was killed in a suspicious plane crash, director Rosi hired a private investigator, and things became far murkier.
