THE DIRTY DOZEN

Sunday, April 2–Tuesday, April 4

(1967, DCP, 150m) dir Robert Aldrich w/Lee Marvin, Charles Bronson, John Cassavetes. On the eve of D-Day, a group of convicted killers is conscripted to go behind enemy lines and take out Nazi officers. Aldrich’s essential “guys on a mission” movie excels partly because of Borgnine’s scene-stealing General Worden. At Perisphere, Dylan Walker compares the use of violence in The Dirty Dozen and the video game series The Last of Us.
