(1968, 35mm, 90m) dir Peter Bogdanovich w/Boris Karloff, Tim O’Kelly, Arthur Peterson. Byron Orlok (Karloff) is an aging horror-film star doing a personal appearance at a drive-in theater that comes under assault by a deranged Vietnam vet. When producer Roger Corman tasked Bogdanovich with re-using 20 minutes from an earlier Karloff movie, the director’s then-wife, Platt, wrote the story and did the costumes. The biting film that resulted was Karloff’s last.
