Join the Minnesota Academy of Science for a compelling afternoon with Dr. Manuel Esguerra, neuroscientist and assistant research professor at the University of Minnesota. With a background in advanced neuroimaging and a focus on understanding the brain’s response to addictive substances, Dr. Esguerra will shed light on the complex interplay between addiction and brain function.

Following the presentation, stay for a screening of the cult classic Reefer Madness. This film, originally created as a cautionary tale about the dangers of marijuana, offers a humorous and exaggerated portrayal of its effects. It’s a unique blend of cutting-edge science and vintage cinema that promises to be both educational and entertaining!
