When the Emilsburg Morality Committee condemns Ninon de Hauteville’s (Richter) cabaret, she sets out to expose its hypocrisy. Richter was a German actress, dancer, and producer who appeared in more than 70 features between 1913 and 1933. These screenings are made possible by the University of Minnesota’s Imagine Fund as part of the Twin Cities Silent Film Project, organized by Maggie Hennefeld, Associate Professor of Cultural Studies and Comparative Literature. With live accompaniment by Dreamland Faces.
