(1981, 86m)  Made up of ten short films, each one involving a pulsating green orb of unknown origin that contains a corrosive power of greed and malice, Heavy Metal was infamous upon release for its depictions of graphic violence and sex. It has since become revered for its inventive animation and otherworldly storytelling.
