Cabdriver Max (Foxx) picks up an all-night fare (Cruise), who offers Max $600 if he can bring him to several stops and get him to the airport in the morning. Things start getting complicated when a body drops out of a fourth-story window and smashes into the cab’s windshield. Mann’s night scenes opened the door to a new digital photographic vocabulary.
