Big Night

(1996, 109m) dirs Campbell Scott, Stanley Tucci w/Tony Shalhoub, Stanley Tucci, Minnie Driver. “Big Night is a delightful film that celebrates food without skimping on flavor or critiques of the American dream. Its star-studded cast includes Tony Shalhoub playing an uncompromising Italian American chef who refuses to give in to the Spaghetti-Warehousification of his homeland’s cuisine. I’ve only ever seen this film once––on a plane, while sharing headphones and a tiny screen––it definitely deserves a rewatch with an audience in the best repertory cinema!” Chosen by Michelle Baroody, Trylon volunteer since 2013.
