A Place in the Sun in 35mm

Friday, November 13–Sunday, November 15

(1951, 122m) dir George Stevens w/Montgomery Clift, Elizabeth Taylor, Shelley Winters. George Eastman (Clift) follows his rich uncle’s advice and agrees to work in his factory. There, he starts seeing coworker Alice (Winters), which is against policy and may thwart a promotion and possible marriage to upper-class beauty Angela (Taylor). Stevens’s remake of von Sternberg’s An American Tragedy is a salacious triumph.
